چکیده

This paper focuses on the production scheduling in MEMS (microelectromechanical system) manufacturing. The whole MEMS production process can be organized as three sub-processes, that is, the front-end process, the wafer cap process and the back-end process. As the total processing time of the frontend process is significantly longer that that of the wafer cap process, the coordination between the releases of wafers to these two sub-processes is an important issue. In this paper, three synchronization rules are developed and they are evaluated together with six dispatching rules under Poisson input. The performance measures considered are cycle times of wafers. A visual interactive simulation model is constructed to imitate the production line. The simulation results indicate that both synchronization rules and dispatching rules have significant impacts on the performance of MEMS manufacturing. A HYBRID GENETIC ALGORITHM FOR A BI-OBJECTIVE SCHEDULING PROBLEM IN A FLEXIBLE MANUFACTURING CELL

This paper considers a bi-objective scheduling problem in a flexible manufacturing cell (FMC) which minimizes the maximum completion time (i.e., makespan) and maximum tardiness simultaneously. A new mathematical model is considered to reflect all aspect of the manufacturing cell. This type of scheduling problem is known to be NP-hard. To cope with the complexity of such a hard problem, a genet...

New scheduling rules for a dynamic flexible flow line problem with sequence-dependent setup times

In the literature, the application of multi-objective dynamic scheduling problem and simple priority rules are widely studied. Although these rules are not efficient enough due to simplicity and lack of general insight, composite dispatching rules have a very suitable performance because they result from experiments. In this paper, a dynamic flexible flow line problem with sequence-dependent se...

Real-time Scheduling of a Flexible Manufacturing System using a Two-phase Machine Learning Algorithm

The static and analytic scheduling approach is very difficult to follow and is not always applicable in real-time. Most of the scheduling algorithms are designed to be established in offline environment. However, we are challenged with three characteristics in real cases: First, problem data of jobs are not known in advance. Second, most of the shop’s parameters tend to be stochastic. Third, th...

Comparison Analysis of Due Date Assignment Methods Using Scheduling Rules in a Job Shop Production System

This paper presents a simulation and comparison analysis conducted to investigate the due-date assignment methods through various scheduling rules. The due date assignment methods investigated are flow time due date (FTDD) and total work content (TWK) method. Three scheduling rules are integrated in the simulation for scheduling of jobs on machines. The performance of the study is evaluated bas...

Multicriteria dynamic scheduling methodology for controlling a flexible manufacturing system

A methodology is presented for the dynamic scheduling of flexible manufacturing systems (FMSs). A two-level control hierarchy is suggested. The higher level is used for determining a dominant decision criterion and relevant scheduling rules, based on an analysis of the actual shop status. The lower level uses simulation for determining the best scheduling policy to be selected. Simulation is us...
